Your USB has been working fine and then all of a sudden it gets an error "USB not recognised" or simlar.
You have tried everything without joy.
I found this solution on the web and it worked for me.
....
Simply UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER FROM THE POWER SUPPLY. Yes that’s it! Note that this does not mean just turning off your computer because modern computers don’t really turn off when you press the power button as the motherboard still gets power.
First to explain, the motherboard is where all of hardware of the computer is connected to, including the USB ports. Sometimes the motherboard needs to be “rebooted” also because something can go wrong, i.e. all your USB ports suddenly stop working. The small microprocessor on the motherboard will reload the drivers and your USB ports should be back to recognizing all devices!
So first turn off your computer using Shut Down or pressing the power button and then UNPLUG it from the wall outlet. Let it sit for about a minute and then plug it back in.
Hope this helps someone fix that pesky “USB device not recognized” Windows error!

Z Web Design has some exciting news for our customers.
We have just completed a new server upgrade.

Our brand new servers now feature Dual Quad Core 5520 5620 processors, 8GB RAM and RAID 10. We believe that the new hardware is an impressive 2 and sometimes 4 times more powerful than our previous servers.

The upgrade marks a crucial development for Z Web Design, as part of our commitment to investing in high quality services to deliver exceptional service standards to our clients. We are extremely excited about the results of the upgrade.

What will this mean for me?

This upgrade is excellent news for our clients. You will see improvements in three different areas:
>Speed
>Stability
>Reliability
Our new power-horse Dual Quad Core processors, backed by a massive 24GB Random Access Memory (RAM) per server, allows us to bring you an incredible level of high performance. In short, web pages, scripts and databases are going to run much faster.

Your data is valuable, and it’s extremely important to us that we help you to protect it. That’s why all of our new servers feature RAID 10 – securing your data with powerful RAID technology.

Hopefully you have already have noticed significant improvements in performance over the past week – and as we optimise our network for the new hardware, things will only get better!

Thank you once again for choosing Z Web Design!

When you try logging in to your account control panel at http://www.YourDomain/CPanel your browser may get a pop-up security certificate "Warning" you about the site.

This is a limitation of the browser and NOT a security risk. The issue is that a security certificate is issued to a domain name, not an IP address. But when you are logging in to your account control panel on a shared hosting server, you are not logging into the domain that the SSL Certificate is issued to, but the IP address of the server.

The connection between your computer and our server will be secure. You simply need to ACCEPT THE CERTIFICATE. You should have the option to Permanently Accept it. You should do so. Otherwise you will see the "Warning" every time you log in.
If you do not ACCEPT the certificate, even temporarily for the single session, you will not be able to access your account control panel.

Computer freezes? Clean the dust out of your computer!

The short version:
Dust will stop your computer and at worst destroy it.

Long version:
I was given a computer about a year ago by a friend who was fed up with it and went across to the dark side and bought a Mac! :-)
I reformatted it and after a clean install of software it went into my youngest daughters room.
She has been complaining of it freezing up for quite some time now but said it would mainly do it when playing games. I thought it was maybe the graphics card, as it had a basic one in there, so I installed a better one. Still no joy. I finally got it to play up regularly when syncing her ipod. It would do it every time after about 10 minutes. As you know Itunes is VERY ram intensive. (I wish there was a good substitute but there isn't).

So fo the second time in a few months I decided to look inside again.
Make sure there are no loose connections. Make sure the CPU has not raised up out of it's pins etc.

Low and behold I look at the CPU under the cooling fan and it is so full of dust that you can't see any of the cooling fins underneath!
A good clean by blowing with my mouth and a duster and it was all removed. It would have been 2 or 3mm thick...a lot of dust! So much that I was confident I may have found the problem.

I Reassembled and plugged in the computer and it has not frozen since.

Even after letting Itunes sync a bunch of files for over 2 hrs.
That was a week ago and still no issues at all.

I did a Google search on this and it is VERY common.
What happens is that the fan cannot cool the CPU so the voltages and temperature get unstable and finally the computer will just lock up.

So if you have been experiencing random freezes this could be your solution.

Make sure your computer is dust free, especially around the power supply fan and CPU cooling fan.

Switch off the power at the mains before opening your computer and remember there can still be residual power in the system!!!!!!!!
